Given the events that have taken place recently with 3 billion people going-dark and 1.5 billion people’s data being stolen with the Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp “Interruption”, this should be a strong indication that borderless, serverless, unblockable and secure communication is one of the most important aspects that needs to be implemented. This is exactly what Core Decentralized technologies with its Luna Mesh, CorePass and Core Communications protocol has successfully developed.
Today we are extremely proud to announce that we have successfully completed and implemented what was said to be impossible to develop. Apart from doing this through IoT devices, we can also establish this connection between mobile phones and centralized platforms regardless of the operating system being used, making this protocol device agnostic. Not only have we focused on our decentralized applications which we are bringing to market but also to open up the opportunity for centralized environments to utilize this technology to establish secure connections, whether being server based or decentralized, the connection can be established securely making it a first in the world to ever achieve this.
This resolves all issues, not only for inter platform communications but also for decentralized to centralized and decentralized to decentralized solutions to enable a secure connection between all devices that can prevent any interception or stolen data.
To look at some examples, this protocol has been implemented into CorePass making it the most secure digital identity developed.
CorePass off-chain p2p communication layer:
CorePass, a decentralized solution for KYC and KYB, needed an off-chain communication mechanism to transfer KYC information between users. Also, this information, considering the importance of user privacy, can not be trusted with a classic centralized solution like WebSocket.
To address this need, we have developed a completely decentralized p2p network as our off-chain communication layer. User actual network addresses are being broadcasted using the Kademlia DHT. This way, our users would be able to find each other, without the help of any single point of failure. Furthermore, by using different rendezvous, this network can scale to millions of active users, without a problem.
After finding the network address, with the help of the Core protocol, a p2p network connection is going to be initiated between the two parties of the transaction. Also, this connection is end to end encrypted, so no one can intercept information that is passed through. After that, peers are going to authenticate each other using a technique which is called authentication by signature to be sure they are communicating with the correct user.
Besides transferring KYC information, this communication layer could also be used by the DAPP developers. Unlike all other available solutions, the developer does not need to rely on a centralized blockchain gateway to interact with the smart contract. Using this communication layer, they can send their RPC request directly to the CorePass application to be resolved against the light node which is running on the mobile phone. Also, this tool would make installing a browser extension to be able to run DAPPs, a thing of the past.
Last but not least, by not relying on centralized servers, the users can be sure that the application is always going to be functional, no matter what.
